Affordable Windows receives first order from the Ernest Cook Trust.
We are delighted to announce we supplied our first order to the charitable foundation The Ernest Cook Trust.
Founded in 1952, Ernest Cook was the grandson of the famed travel agent, Thomas Cook. This notwithstanding, he made his own way by trading foreign currencies used by people in the new fashion of international travel. Along with his brother Frank, he sold his exchange company in 1928 for £3.5m (a huge amount back then) and he would go on to use his money to buy estates and land for educational use. Still, to this day, money from the estates is allocated for educational grants.
Our part in this was to supply windows and doors to one of the Trust’s many properties while being sympathetic to the Cotswolds architecture. As the flush sash window met all the requirements, an order was placed and the results are displayed in our gallery.
