Common window questions from Belfast homeowners

Below we have covered the questions we hear most often from homeowners in Belfast, from realism to regulations.

Contact Us

Will new windows make my Belfast home quieter?

Noticeably. Modern sealed glazing units and properly gasketed frames cut the level of street noise that reaches the room, especially compared with old single glazed frames. On busier Belfast roads, the change is often the first thing homeowners mention.

Can trickle vents be hidden?

In most cases yes, the regulations ask for background ventilation. Our concealed design keeps the vent out of sight behind a neat head drip, preserving clean sightlines while the air still moves as required.

How much do wood effect uPVC windows cost in Belfast?

Price depends on the number of windows, their sizes, the style you choose and finishes such as woodgrain foils or heritage hardware. Wood effect uPVC typically costs notably less than real timber while outperforming it. Your nearest installer can survey your Belfast home and quote precisely.

How does the installation process work?

Installation is handled by our nationwide network of vetted professionals. Once you enquire, we match you with an installer local to Belfast who manages everything from survey to final fitting.

Will new windows stop condensation?

Condensation forms when warm moist air meets cold glass. New Timberlook windows keep the inner pane much warmer and build in concealed background ventilation, tackling both halves of the problem. Most homes see the morning streaming all but disappear.

    Cills

Choosing the right cill for your Timberlook windows

We offer a choice of cill options to enhance your flush sash windows. Choose between the contemporary shallow cill that comes as standard or the Radlington Cill which has been designed to add a sophisticated charm to any property.

    85mm Stubb Cills

These small but strong cills are often used for properties with stone cills, having been crafted to ensure that moisture is directed away from the frames, removing the risk of water ingress.

    150mm Cills

As the industry’s ‘standard’, these cills protrude 80mm from the front of the frame. They offer long lasting protection, are virtually maintenance free, and come in a choice of colours.

    180mm Cills

The 180mm cill is the largest cill we offer, protruding 110mm from the front of the frame. You’ll often find these cills in properties with frames that are recessed in the brickwork.

    Radlington 165mm

Cills are usually 30mm deep, but to accurately emulate traditional looking frames, the Radlington cill is slightly thicker at 55mm deep, protruding 95mm from the face of the frame.
