Heritage Flush Sash Windows

The Timber Alternative

Timberlook flush sash windows successfully replicate heritage designs. They are for historic buildings and conservation projects. Designed to look identical to traditional wooden frames, our timber alternative uPVC windows and flush french doors have a number of significant advantages.

Modern materials and technology make it possible to achieve the character look you want, with a window that’s thermally efficient and secure. They are undoubtedly more affordable than real timber, and will have a significant impact on the the comfort and appearance of any property. Timberlook windows are made for modern living and, with a minimal and understated appearance, suit contemporary and new build properties too.

Tradition and Technology

To create a true timber alternative window, the Timberlook system features some important design details. From its square mortise & tenon looking fabrication, to a fine selection of traditional colours, hardware and handles, this modern uPVC window is almost identical to heritage wooden frames.

From an installer point of view, the 70mm frame depth ensures quicker installation and less making good. Glass units are supplied separately and not bonded in, which makes frames and glazing safer to handle and potential remedial work is made less complicated.

As beautiful as real timber is, it can swell, shrink, warp or twist depending on the weather. Wooden window frames are expensive to buy, and need ongoing care and attention. The cost and time taken to preserve their appearance soon adds up.

Timberlook Flush Sash Windows simply don’t need that sort of maintenance.

Mechanically Jointed Flush Sash Windows

Windows are mechanically jointed with the look of mortise and tenons, so there are no tell-tale diagonal welds or joints that normally identify a PVCu window.

Unlike other heritage window systems on the market, the Timberlook window is hand-built in the proper way to achieve the look of traditional butt joints. Using the Timberweld method to mechanically join the frame at each corner, we create frames with perfect corners that are completely sealed at the edges.

Simply put, it’s the most authentic timber butt joint effect available in a new uPVC window, without sacrificing on performance. Don’t accept anything less than the traditional designs of wood-foiled and butt-jointed windows.

Planning & Conservation

Our innovative Timberlook flush casement windows have been used to satisfy planning officers and used as new windows in conservation areas. A number of projects have been accepted by Cotswold Council, where the local authority commented:

“…[Timberlook] UPVC units have been accepted as a variation on Condition 11, they are considered to successfully mimic traditional flush casements, and care has been taken over details such as the sill and trickle ventilation…”

Heritage Officer, Cotswold Council

Beautiful, inside and out.

Heritage flush sash windows need to look beautiful on the inside too and the Timberlook system has a fully sculptured ovolo profile internally. The curved details provide a more ornate finish to the overall inside appearance of your windows.

The inside can also be finished in our beautiful selection of woodgrain foils, and in a different colour to the outside. Timberlook can blend seamlessly with existing decor or fit right into a new scheme

Concealed Trickle Ventilation

When trickle ventilation is required, it is usually rather unsightly externally. We don’t believe in spoiling the appearance of your window or property – if your project includes trickle ventilation, extended cover vents can be concealed by a head drip on the Timberlook outer frame.

Unique to the Timberlook is a dual setting for night ventilation and high security is built-in. The espaganolette and striker provide an effective, secure locking system with a smooth closing action. It features enhanced security that meets PAS24:2016 with ease and is perfect for flush fitting windows.

Finishing Touches

Timberlook Flush Sash windows come with contemporary handles as standard but can be enhanced with Premium Regency furniture – this includes a dummy stay, monkey-tail window handle, and a peardrop handle. They are all available in a choice of finishes and feature built-in security like key-locking handles, sash locks, and child safety restrictors. The black and pewter finishes of our Premium Regency furniture enhance the authentic appearance of a traditional wooden window.
